Water climbing wall
One of the most exciting attractions at Maaraue outdoor pool is the water climbing wall, which is now open to eager climbers after being granted health and safety clearance by an independent auditing body (TÜV). The climbing wall, made by the renowned manufacturer “Waterclimbing”, can be found at the edge of the diving bay. It’s four metres high, three metres wide and weighs a few hundred kilos.
The climbing wall’s foundations are anchored 3.50 metres under the ground. The surface is made of polycarbonate and features grips that are specially designed for wet skin, allowing you to easily hang on as you climb to the top. There’s no rope on the climbing wall: Once you’ve reached the top, you can jump back into the water; if you don’t make it, you can just drop back into the water on your way up.
Sunbathing lawns and sports activities
Maaraue outdoor pool also features a lawn with around 50,000 m² of space, a playing area for families, a basketball court, two beach volleyball courts, a boccia court, two table tennis tables, two chess tables and a roofed area with a badminton court and three table tennis tables. Hungry bathers can refuel at the swimming pool restaurant.
Maaraue outdoor pool has a wide range of disabled facilities, such as wheelchair access, wheelchair-friendly changing facilities and toilets, and six disabled parking spaces.
