Genuine relaxation and fitness – before and after childbirth
We’re proud to announce that pre-natal and post-natal aqua fitness courses have returned to the Thermalbad Aukammtal.
A real treat for expectant mothers
The ‘Aqua Fitness for Pregnant Women’ course promotes the health and well-being of mother and child through targeted movements in the water. As soon as you enter the water, you experience a feeling of lightness and weightlessness that makes it easy for expectant mothers to maintain or even improve their fitness and mobility during pregnancy.
The rhythmic movement in the water gently massages the entire body and exerts pressure on the veins, which has many positive effects:
- Venous return transport is promoted, which prevents water retention, varicose veins and thrombosis.
- Blood circulation throughout the body is promoted, as is the supply of essential nutrients.
- Connective tissue is tightened.
- The baby receives optimal care and, thanks to the rhythmic movements, its overall motor skills and coordination are promoted, among other things.
- Pregnant women who are physically active are more efficient and relaxed, and thus optimally prepared for childbirth.
Course times:
Tuesday, 8:00 pm to 8:45 pm
Course fee: No advance registration is required for the pre- and postnatal aqua fitness courses. Participation in pre- and postnatal aqua fitness costs €4.50 plus the current daily admission price.
Notes
The course takes place in deep and shallow water and should be viewed as a health-promoting addition to birth preparation. Participation should be discussed with your gynaecologist before the first course.
Deep relaxation for new mothers
Water is the ideal medium for getting your abdominal wall back into shape after giving birth and specifically training your pelvic floor muscles. At the same time, it strengthens and relaxes your shoulder and back muscles.
Six to eight weeks after giving birth, there is usually nothing standing in the way of starting training, provided you have your doctor’s approval. You train at your own risk.
This course offers the opportunity to start pelvic floor training soon after giving birth and do something for your well-being. Babies can be brought into the bathroom and placed in a baby seat at the edge of the pool. This allows you to keep an eye on your baby during training. If your child is being looked after at home, you can of course come without your child and enjoy some time to yourself.
Course times:
