Thermalbad Aukammtal: Bathing area fully open, sauna with restrictions
Following completion of the noisy renovation work in the sauna area, the Aukammtal thermal spa will reopen its doors on Saturday, November 8. The entire bathing area will be fully available to guests from this day onwards, the sauna area on the upper floor can be used, and renovation work in the basement will continue—nothing stands in the way of a relaxing visit.
The reopening was delayed due to unexpected structural challenges. It was originally scheduled to take place on September 23. However, complex demolition work in the basement of the sauna area and moisture in the building fabric made it necessary to revise the waterproofing concept. The noisy work is now in its final stages and will soon be completed, so that only moderate noise levels are to be expected in the future.
Due to the ongoing construction work in the basement of the sauna area, the following adjustments must be observed upon entry. The transition from the bathing area to the sauna area is temporarily not possible. However, sauna visitors still have the opportunity to use the bathing area.
Thermal bath guests must decide on the desired area before entering, as it is currently not possible to book the sauna tariff retrospectively. In addition, access to the sauna area is currently not barrier-free and is limited to a maximum of 80 people. We ask for your understanding that there may be waiting times for entry.
Of a total of six saunas and one steam bath, three saunas are located in the outdoor area, as well as the new outdoor sauna.
To take the restrictions into account, the surcharge for the sauna is reduced by 50%.
Visitors can look forward to numerous innovations. Particularly spectacular was the construction of a new quadruple sauna in the outdoor area – due to its size, it had to be lifted into place by crane.
“We are very pleased to finally welcome guests back to the Aukammtal thermal baths after this intensive construction phase,” says Thomas Baum, operations manager at mattiaqua.
There are currently no catering facilities available at the Aukammtal thermal spa. The existing lease agreement was terminated prematurely by the previous tenant. However, mattiaqua is already working intensively on a new solution so that guests will soon be able to enjoy catering facilities at the Aukammtal thermal spa again.

Aukammtal Thermal Baths: Bathing and sauna areas cannot open as planned
The Aukammtal Thermal Baths will not be able to open both the bathing and sauna areas as planned after the scheduled renovation work.
The Aukammtal Thermal Baths were originally scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, 23 September. However, due to unforeseen delays in the ongoing construction work and necessary reworking, the bathing and sauna facilities cannot be opened as planned.
The ongoing renovation work and associated noise pollution currently make regular operation impossible. These measures are necessary to ensure the long-term quality, safety and functionality of the thermal baths.
The Aukammtal thermal baths apologise to all guests for the inconvenience caused. A new opening date for the bathing and sauna areas will be announced in good time.
