Mainzer Straße Leisure Pool: New swimming courses
New swimming courses for children and adults can now be booked.
For children's swimming courses, you can choose between beginner/advanced and water familiarisation courses.
For adults, there is a beginner's course and a beginner's crawl course.

mattiaqua: Company outing on 22 September 2025
On Monday, 22 September, all mattiaqua facilities will be closed for the entire day due to a company outing. These include the Kleinfeldchen indoor swimming pool, the Kaiser-Friedrich-Therme thermal baths and the Lufti - Unter den Eichen leisure complex. The Aukammtal thermal baths are still closed for renovation work and the Mainzer Straße leisure pool is generally closed on Mondays. From Tuesday onwards, all facilities will be open again during their usual opening hours.
Rettbergsaue recreation area: End of season
The last day of opening is Sunday, 21 September
Lufti leisure park: end of season
The last day of opening is Sunday, 5 October. Owners of permanent lockers are requested to clear them by then.
Kleinfeldchen indoor swimming pool: reopening after renovation
The Kleinfeldchen indoor swimming pool will reopen on Monday, 1 September, at its regular opening times. This means that the following indoor swimming pool weather rules will also come back into effect:
Bad weather: (forecast for 2 pm: outdoor temperature below 22°C or rain)
The indoor swimming pool will remain open.
Good weather: (forecast for 2 pm: outside temperature above 22° and sunny)
The indoor swimming pool will close at 10 am (on weekends after women's swimming and baby swimming) and only the outdoor pool will remain open.

2025 outdoor swimming season: outdoor pools are gradually closing their doors
Kallebad outdoor pool last day of swimming Wednesday, 3 September (dog swimming on Sunday, 7 September)
Opelbad outdoor pool last day of swimming Sunday, 7 September
Maaraue outdoor pool last day of swimming Sunday, 9 September
Kleinfeldchen outdoor pool last day of swimming Sunday, 21 September
Kleinfelchen indoor swimming pool: Closed due to competition
Due to a competition, the indoor swimming pool will be completely closed on 20 and 21 September. However, the outdoor pool will remain open until 21 September inclusive.
Aukammtal Thermal Baths: Inspection and renovation work
From 1 September to 22 September 2025, the Aukammtal Thermal Baths will be completely closed due to our annual inspection. Please note: The entire sauna area will close on Saturday, 30 August 2025, due to the necessary construction work.
Following the inspection, partial renovation of the indoor saunas in the basement will begin on 23 September 2025. You can look forward to new attractions and a visual upgrade in a contemporary ambience!
Due to ongoing renovation work in the sauna area (ground floor), access is currently not barrier-free.
The lift in the sauna area, which is only accessible to guests with walking disabilities and wheelchair users via the swimming pool and the sauna area on the ground floor, is unfortunately not available during the construction work.
A reduced sauna admission price will apply for the duration of the renovation work:
- The regular bathing fee without sauna use will remain unchanged.
- The surcharge for sauna use (transition from bathing to sauna): 50% discount

Thermalbad Aukammtal: Closing time
From the 01.09. - 22.09.2025, the thermal baths will be completely closed for renovation work. The entire sauna area will close on Saturday, August 30, 2025, due to the construction site setup.
From 23.09.2025, the indoor saunas in the basement will be partially renovated.
In order to keep the Aukammtal thermal baths attractive, our annual basic cleaning and necessary repair and maintenance work is carried out during the above-mentioned inspection period. Following this, the basement of the sauna area will be partially renovated. You can look forward to new attractions and a visual upgrade in a contemporary ambience. There will be a reduced sauna admission price for the duration of the renovation work.
