Water acclimatisation courses for children aged 4-6
Aim of water acclimatisation
- We want to develop positive associations with water.
- Tolerating water on the face Diving / sliding (without swallowing)
- Gliding (with face under water)
- Jumping with and without floats
- Discovering the properties of water (buoyancy and drag)
- How does my body feel in the water?
Principles:
The above points are essential for building confidence and developing an initial swimming technique. Children are encouraged – and not forced – to take part in each activity, allowing them to have positive experiences and build their confidence in all areas of life.
